(no subject) [Jul. 18th, 2007|11:44 pm]
[mood | amused]

two weeks ago they taught us how to suture, which i couldnt seem to stop practicing. i didnt want to hog up the sample we were suturing so i sat down and sutured the jeans i was wearing.

anyway they taught us how to extract blood this morning (Venipuncture). we had to extract blood from our groupmates and likewise be subject to their rookie attempts of extraction. yes there was a number of people who ended up squirting blood in unnecessary angles or other people getting punctured in their tendons instead of their veins (nope, no bleeding but it hurts like a b*tch). i was the last one in my group to extract blood. i was supposed to extract blood from katrina since she extracted from me, however since i couldnt find her vein, i strapped the tourniquet unto my left arm and extracted from my arm. the only thing missing in this potential picture perfect portrait junkie pose would be the improvised tourniquet (belt) and the actual drug.

its pretty cool, the first time i extracted blood was from myself. pretty logical if you think about it. if you make a mistake, at least its you who suffers instead of someone else, and if it ends up hurting at least you'd know in less than a heartbeat where in you can do semething about it in a heart beat as well. as apposed to wincing or screaming in pain for your groupmate to know somethings wrong.

i think i have the potential or gift even of being really good at this. Why? coz i didnt feel a thing hehehe! then again "masarap parati and sarili mong luto." right?

well there are however marks of hematoma from the place where i drew blood from. no not coz i missed my vein on the first insertion. its coz i had to let go of the syringe for a moment to untie the tourniquet.

Crippler Crossed Out [Jun. 27th, 2007|04:48 pm]
[mood | disappointed]

Chris Benoit, aka the Crippler and the Rabid Wolverine
a good natured competative wrestler amongst his fans and cowrestlers. a long time friend of the late Eddie Guerrero, trained by Brett the Hitman Hart.

Pro wrestler Benoit kills family then himself

wow, that pretty much shocked me...

im becoming restless again... no more complaining. normally you'd expect someone to pop, burst or explode (visual of your choice) when emotions or problems are held in. well maybe some other symptoms have gone unnoticed due to their discreet nature. another symptom, just being...

Starting Movies;Striking Days [Jan. 4th, 2007|09:30 pm]

upcoming days are surely jam-packed with a sh*te load to do. im hosting tomorrows Icon ng Agham together with Arianne. football practice the following day followed by a busy night with jeng's birthday (the Oh Club) and aryn's birthday party together with other highschool friends. this leaves sunday as a wide open (but lazy) day to study for upcoming tests. test in physiology lec, embryology lec and genetics on monday. game against CRS (college of rehabilitation science) on tuesday where aldreen wants me to play striker for starting 11, then practicals in embryology lab for 24hr and 33hr chick.

Postponed [Dec. 1st, 2006|09:44 pm]
[mood | guilty]
[music |hugh laurie - mystery]

nice going Reming. together with the classes you postponed, you managed to cancel along with it everyone's plans of going out last night. tsk tsk tsk. would it defeat the purpose of having a long weekend if you cant drink to it? speaking of drinking... broke my drinking streak when last night's plans were canceled. nice going Reming! you happy now?! hehehe

was with jose yesterday morning playing a couple of PC games he managed to stuff into his computer. we went for a walk and some bish (walking being secondary to the cigs ofcourse) and we managed to see something that pretty much made our day being only 3:00pm.

a woman on a scooter rode passed us coming from our back and slowed to a stop since she had arrived outside her house. she all of a suddenly got off-balanced and toppled over together with her scooter to the side (mind you the street we were on was descending). i didnt see it, jose however was struggling so hard not to laugh having witnessed it. anyway the woman managed to get back up with some help from the maid who opened the gate. after getting up she tried starting her scooter several times which seemed like it wasnt going to start again. and just when i started to feel jealous for not having been able to witness what jose just witnessed, the scooter starts and the woman unknowingly floors the accelerator. the scooters rushes forward and up since the woman was still holding on to the handles. it flys right above and lands on her crushing her below.

what would you have thought the initial instinct would have been? to run and help or to laugh? ok i ran and helped her the moment we saw what happened. but does it make me a bad person if i said i laughed the split second it happened? not out loud, a smirk at the most. hey i helped her didnt i? the woman insisted she was alright on account of "im ok, its a good thing im wearing a helmet". the scooter fell all over your ass, im sorry but how is a helmet supposed to help you? talk about a live youtube-potential clip if not for the tragic absence of a rolling camera.

it wouldve been more of a good deed done for the day have it not been for jose and i ridiculing the stupidity of the situation. instead of grace i guess our good karma was pretty much the laugh we got out of it.

Under-pressured [Nov. 30th, 2006|08:42 am]
[mood | pleased]

i have more units this sem compared to some of my friends... but why dont i feel so harassed? i dont feel pressured? in fact this week has been so fun, barely any learning went on. im not saying barely anything happened this week nor am i saying learning isnt fun hehehe ;) something wrong isnt it? am i slacking off again? wala naman talaga gagawin diba?

another cute fact about this week... monday to wednesday not much school work... monday to wednesday ive been riding red horses and catching colts. today is thursday. thank you anica ross and aryn, 3 perfectly good excuses not to break the chain hehehe.

ive been bumping into some highschool friends (from archi) more often now (since friday). but it was only tuesday that i saw ross again. nice to see you guys again! and thanks in advance for the archi jersey! hehehe

speaking of jerseys... Pax the Pax Romana football team for the upcoming Palarong Agham... never really occurred to me until now, im the team captain hehehe. cool. im handling the lineup and the jersey so who else could it possibly be right?

i think alots happened and alot of work has to be done, but i dont feel the pressure probably from all the good and great things that've been happening this week and maybe plus the alcohol i guess. thank you God.

i'll still be praying this all sticks together and settles like the way water in a steady pond does. ;)

Long Waited Entry [Nov. 22nd, 2006|10:26 pm]
[mood | tired]

woke up feeling like a death-row convict on his sentenced death day. hoped for the best and prepared for the worst... felt like the worst... expected the worst... anticipated the worst... feared the worst... slowly labeling the worst case scenario into being the inevitable. ill spare the tedious details (which wouldnt have sufficed anyway) and probably some platitude as well.

thank You!
and ofcourse thank God!

understatement of the year: im so happy (im un-saddened if thats even a real word)

feel good but physically im in no shape for anything. sh*te this is bad, but it wont be so hard hopefully getting back healthwise.

Back to Sched [Nov. 5th, 2006|11:56 am]
[mood | discontent]

ya i pretty much see it as a schedule than a "back to school" feeling. talk about a hectic schedule. it would break the laws of reality i guess if you overload 11 units and you're schedule isnt jam packed after that hehehe.

i do see suffering up ahead due to the hectic subjects... but hey atleast second sem is shorter. so if i'll be suffering atleast its just for a short while. all out time. ;)

Commercial Come-Back [Oct. 7th, 2006|12:23 pm]
[mood | nervous]

its been a while... alot of significant events have happened... anyway...

one of the very few reasons why i like local tv... the commercials. i find them so funny. it was only a few days ago that i saw the new Fita Spreadz commercial hehehe.

have you noticed that almost all Nescafe ads are in slow motion... no matter what place or setting, its always in slow motion... in the rain, in a plantation, where ever. slow motion effect gives you such a calming and relaxing effect right? but is that what caffeine really does to you? relax you? now have you seen iya's palmolive ad with the "freedom to shake"? (shes adorable in the ad) with iya dancing alll over the place, head-banging, swirling her hair restlessly... now thats what a caffeine ad should look like hehehe.

finals week is up. God Help us.

Killer Croc [Sep. 6th, 2006|12:42 pm]
[mood | sympathetic]

roughly around yesterday early morning, steve irwin passed away due to what most news writers have been calling a freak accident and others an inevitability. swimming in the low Isles at Port Douglas, steve was said to have taken a solid hit from a stingray's tail to the chest which caused a cardiac arrest.

it more or less was his request not to have died or lose a limb to a crocodile. if that were to happen, millions around the world would've simply say "it was bound to happen one of these years"... cruel irony for one who holds the title "Crocodile Hunter". you cant imagine Crocodile Dundee being eaten by a croc, it would spoil not the character too much huh?

Year book [Sep. 5th, 2006|02:09 pm]

the Queen (and i dont mean drag) of the College of Science Student Council, Janelle V. Salazar. one of the most outstanding students constantly put under unforgiving stress and still gets way higher grades than i do and looks better than most girls without the stress. smart gorgeous and single... what a catch wink* wink* how about that!

Jeng im not doing this to annoy you... more like, creativity born at the edge of boredom

this is a sample of what our Science Year book (underground) is to look like... i like how it looks like. i have my science pic taken this coming tuesday with the rest of my class. any ideas for creative pic? my grad pic for the Thomasian year book on the other hand is scheduled tomorrow. best wishes to all, that we may all look an ounce at least as gorgeous as Jeng here hehehe.

Best Storm Yet [Jul. 27th, 2006|02:14 am]
[mood | ecstatic]
[music |dramarama - anything anything]

intelligent articulate girls dont intimidate me (i live with 2 at home)... hot rocker chicks intimidate me more

apparently ive been falling in love... Rockstar Supernova (i know this description wont do it justice im sorry), the rocker's American Idol hahaha oh man that sucks to say but im too lazy to think of any other way to put it. yep the rocker type... where judges apparently are nicer... either that or rockers are just clearly more talented hahaha!!!

Resemble? clockwise; jamie king, anna faris, storm large

like i said i think im falling in love... and her name is, Storm Large, its her real name (according to her and since love is blind... i believe her). a blonde anna faris rocker chick with a deep voice (not typically a blonde attribute) like joss stone and a rock goddess screech of courtney love when singing high notes... sigh*

storm large serenading me with one of my favorite songs sigh* her best song so far.
one of the very few instances where i find myself liking the cover almost more than the original... [watch it here]

Italy's 4th Star; Zidane's last header snif* [Jul. 10th, 2006|09:58 pm]
[mood | gloomy]
[music |white stripes - seven nation army]

Ever notice the World Cup isnt actually a cup?

i left the house with my dad at 2am to catch the finals match of Italy and France at tgif with a couple of football buddies. like i said before, i like italy more than france but i like zidane way more than italy. i guess hes the only thing that made me cheer for france. italians although not being a purely defensive team, are known for their formidable defensive tactics which was well displayed in the finals. well what a match it was...

Oddsih Highlights:
- henry fouled hard early in the match and thought to have been brought off for good
- penalty made good by zidane for an early 1-0 lead
- amazing header from the corner into the goal by materazzi making it 1-1
- more amazing crosses from italy
- first time i witnessed a foul throw in professional league
- zidane's red card for jabbing his head into materazzi's chest (last professional header? sad)
- time extension for an even score
- penalty shoot out
- italy's fourth star

i find it pretty depressing that a good number of players are retiring. figo is retiring from international football, zidane and barthez i think... and some nasty rumor that nakata is as well. sigh*
